What is a minimoon?

A short romantic break taken straight after the wedding, usually two to four nights, when a full honeymoon isn’t practical yet.

What to look for

A private hot tub, a wood-burner, no shared facilities and — if you can — no neighbours in sight. Adults-only sites are worth seeking out.

Where to go in Wales

Snowdonia for the mountains, Pembrokeshire and the Llyn for the coast, the Brecon Beacons for dark skies, and mid-Wales for genuine quiet.

Easy to reach

Much of Wales is within two or three hours of the Midlands and the South West, which makes a short break worth the drive.

Worth asking about

Many sites will lay on champagne, flowers or a hamper if you tell them it’s a minimoon.
