Where to go near Loch Ness

The Great Glen along both shores, Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus on the loch itself, and Inverness as a base at the northern end.

What kind of glamping?

Pods and cabins suit the Highland weather best, with shepherd’s huts and the occasional dome. Many have hot tubs and wood-burners.

Built for the weather

Highland rain is part of the deal. Solid walls, heating and somewhere to dry boots make the difference between a good trip and a long one.

Things to do near Loch Ness

Cruise the loch, visit Urquhart Castle, walk stretches of the Great Glen Way and follow the Caledonian Canal.

Dark skies

Away from Inverness there is very little light pollution, and winter nights here are long and clear.
