The Rowan is a beautifully designed luxury pod located at Airhouses, our award-winning organic working farm set deep in the Scottish countryside — yet only 40 minutes from Edinburgh and easily accessible from Glasgow and Newcastle. Nestled in a spacious open field, The Rowan offers breathtaking views across the farm to rolling hills beyond, with plenty of privacy, peace, and room to unwind.
This cosy hideaway features underfloor heating, LED mood lighting, excellent 5G WiFi, a Smart TV, and an ensuite shower room. Compact yet thoughtfully designed, it includes a king-sized bed that can convert into a seating area with a table, plus a small kitchenette with kettle, toaster, and sink for simple meals.
Step outside onto your private decking, where you’ll find your own hot tub, outdoor seating, and a charming hobbit-style BBQ hut — perfect for relaxed evenings in the countryside.
Nearly everything is included in your stay: high-quality linens, towels, hot tub towels, robes, slippers, and luxury toiletries. The kitchenette and BBQ hut are well stocked for your use. We simply recommend bringing wellies so you can fully enjoy the outdoors!
Guests staying in The Rowan also have access to a shared facilities hut equipped with a larger fridge, freezer, washing machine, drying area, and space to store muddy boots or bikes.
Life on the Farm
During your stay, you can explore the farm via beautiful fenced walks, browse our small farm shop, or enjoy delicious locally made meals and ice creams from our freezer section. Meet our friendly animals — alpacas, goats, pigs, Shetland ponies, chickens, horses, and more — or follow our fun 5k treasure trail through the landscape.
Enhance your stay further by booking an onsite wellness treatment with a local holistic therapist or arranging E-bikes to be delivered directly to your pod.

“We had a fabulous family break at Airhouses. It was a relaxing, peaceful and beautiful place to stay, with lots for children to explore.
My eight year old had the best time and fell in love with all the animals. The owners were incredibly welcoming and organised super Easter activities, including meeting chicks and making willow nests. The pop-up coffee shop was great.
The Rowan pod was luxurious and clever, with everything we needed and toasty warm underfloor heating. There was a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. We had fun toasting marshmallows in the BBQ hut too.
Other favourite activities included feeding the animals, visiting the nearby Roman museum and stargazing from the hot tub. We made so many happy memories here and we’d 100% recommend a stay at Airhouses.”
