Popular safari tent glamping
Popular safari tent glamping locations
The idea originally comes from East African safari camps, where large canvas tents were set up with furniture and beds for travellers. In the UK, estates, farms and holiday parks have adapted the lodge concept so we too can enjoy nature without giving up our little luxuries. Apart from that it is an experience, something different and accommodation the kids will love to stay in and make holiday memories for years to come. So instead of pitching your own tent, arrive to a fully set-up, furnished canvas lodge!
Whilst relaxing in your safari tent you’ll enjoy the sounds of nature, the wind hitting the canvas, rain on the roof and best of all the birds singing in the morning all whilst warm and cosy in your lodge. Evenings are usually the highlight, sitting outside by a fire, cooking on the BBQ or watching the stars away from city lights.
Family Friendly Safari Tents
Safari tents are a lot larger than much of the general glamping accommodation. These luxury camping tents usually sit on a raised wooden platform with a sturdy timber frame and are warm and waterproof with thick canvas walls. Many of our tents are around the size of a small holiday cottage and can sleep up to 8 people, therefore ideal for families.
Features usually include
- Kitchen with fridge and running water, hob, cooker, kettle, pots and pans and all utensils
- Separate bedrooms with real beds, duvet and bed linen
- Cabin beds for the kids
- Living area with sofas or armchairs
- Dining table with enough chairs for all the family
- Rugs, lamps and wooden furniture
- Blankets for cooler evenings and sitting out on deck
- Heating and often a wood burning stove
- Private bathroom
- Large front covered deck or veranda with outdoor seating
- Fire pit or BBQ area and sometimes even a pizza oven!
Safari Tents with Hot Tubs
Many of our safari tent lodges include hot tubs for added luxury. From the tub you’ll be able to relax whilst looking out over fields, woodland, the coast or hills maybe with a nice glass of wine.
Dog friendly Safari Tent Holidays
Due to the size of a safari tent and the space that our glampsites offering these lodges, your dog is often welcome. Some glamping sites may even offer extras for your bed including dog basket and treats. With many of our safari tents in the countryside your dog will love the wide open spaces and opportunity for walkies.
Some of our favourite Safari Tent holidays include Hidden Meadows in Suffolk also with hot tubs, The Brickyard in Norfolk, Night Sky Glamping in North Wales and Dam View in Scotland
