Glamping Cornwall

Go glamping in Cornwall at Ekopod, where you can relax in splendidly well appointed pods, each in their own private space, nestled in the beautiful rural landscape on the edge of Bodmin Moor.  Ekopod is the perfect base camp for exploring Cornwall set close to the beaches of Bude, picturesque harbours such as Boscastle, Port Issac and Padstow and close to attractions such as Tintagel and The Eden Project.

The Ekopods and Bell Tents are set on the edge of Bodmin in almost five acres of wildflower meadow and woodland with beautiful views of the rolling Cornish countryside around the River Inney valley, Rough Tor and Brown Willy (the highest point in Cornwall).  The secluded farmland is screened on three sides by woodland and bordered by a fast-flowing moorland stream. For the literary enthusiasts amongst the seventeenth-century Old Vicarage next to the meadow was the setting for Thomas Hardy’s poem “The Face at the Casement”.

Our glamping site aims to provide a unique, private and relaxed accommodation where you can enjoy the stunning scenery of Cornwall. With warming log fires and clear night skies it’s an opportunity to embrace a calmer, simpler life. However, simple doesn’t have to mean basic, our pods are more akin to hotel rooms than tents and we make sure that our guests have everything they need.   Just imagine an evening in a luxurious pod, looking up at the stars in an incredibly clear sky. That starry sky is waiting for you…

The seventeenth-century Old Vicarage next to the meadow is a welcoming and charming house, and was the setting for Thomas Hardy’s poem “The Face at the Casement”. This is where you’ll find the Honesty Shop, and us, should you need anything.

Each pod has been individually designed with a king size bed, kitchen, bathroom annexe, wood burning stove and a terrace to capture the wonderful views. We don’t use any electricity in the pods, which as well as benefiting the environment gives a feeling child-like fun to everything you do.

With its geometric structure, it’s like you’ve strayed into your own personal, Eden Project biome. The views are spectacular, and the pod and terrace have been designed to make the most of this. Sitting in the terrace on a warm evening, enjoying a drink under a sky darker and clearer than you could have thought possible, it’s hard to imagine being anywhere better.
Peswara sleeps 2

Based on the design of the Peswara, this pod has the advantage of being wider, and crucially for taller guests, higher. The new pod has the same facilities as their sister pod, but each are individually styled. It also has its own timber-frame kitchen and bathroom annexe.

Nessa sleeps 2 as standard however,we can set up the sofas as two extra singles on request for an extra charge of £15 pppn.

Our Bell Tents Kensa and Tressa feature king size beds and wood burning stoves to provide a cosy glamping experience with private bbq spaces and beautiful views.

Bell tents sleep 2 as standard, however, we can set up the sofas as two extra singles on request for an extra charge of £10 pppn.

For us glampers, the great outdoors is one of the main attractions. As well as the yellow sands and blues seas of our celebrated beaches, you’ll be amazed by the diversity of the landscape in such a relatively small area.  Cornwall has windswept moors, dramatic cliff top walks, rolling countryside and the fascinating scars left from our proud mining heritage. From subtropical gardens to surfing, it is no clichéd exaggeration to say that Cornwall has something for everyone. Other attractions include

  • The Eden Project
  • The Lost Gardens of Heligan
  • Cotehele House and Gardens
  • Lanhydrock House and Gardens
  • Crevice Manor House
  • Charlestown
  • Padstow
  • Bodmin Moor

We can provide a gorgeous reception, party and honeymoon venue (We don’t hold a wedding licence (yet…). There is a beautiful meadow where we can site a large marquee, and we can provide on-site accommodation in our five luxury glamping pods or the newly-converted stone barn. We can also help you find the right caterers, florists, transport, entertainment and additional accommodation. Please ask for more details.
