What will I find inside my glamping accommodation?
Inside the accommodation you’ll usually find…
- Proper beds with duvets and bed linen
- Kitchens or cooking facilities
- Seating areas
- Heating or a wood-burning stove
- Cosy lighting
- Private bathroom
Outside your glamping accommodation you may find a deck with outdoor furniture, BBQ, fire pit or even a hot tub, with views over fields or hills. Evenings are often the highlight sitting around the fire, listening to the sounds of the countryside and watching the sun set over the hills (maybe from your tub!).
For glamping pods try Greenway Touring or for a cabin on a lake look at Colehurst Lake
What is there to do in Shropshire?
Many glamping locations are close to beautiful natural areas like The Shropshire Hills. This region includes famous walking spots such as The Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley. You’ll see rolling hills, patchwork farmland, hedgerows and small woodlands and maybe in the distance, old farmhouses or stone villages dotted across the hillsides.
There will be plenty of nature around you, such as sheep grazing on the hillsides, birds circling above the valleys and wildflowers along country paths. At night the countryside is dark and quiet and the sky often filled with stars. Again a perfect time to maybe enjoy a wood fired hot tub at your glamping accommodation.
Beyond the countryside explore…
- Ludlow renowned for it’s food festival and castle
- Ironbridge Gorge Museums, a UNESCO World Heritage site
- National Trust Attingham Park, a grand 18th-century mansion, deer park and gardens near Shrewsbury
- Shrewsbury Town Center and Castle
- Severn Valley Railway, a heritage railway operating steam trains along the Shropshire Worcestershire border
- Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, England’s oldest and steepest inland electric funicular railway
- RAF Museum Midlands
- Hawkstone Park Follies, a historic woodland park filled with dramatic cliffs, caves and bridges
- Stokesay Castle
Shropshire isn’t as busy as many tourist areas, so it feels slower and more relaxed. Days are usually simple, walking through hills, visiting small market towns, or sitting outside watching the scenery. You’ll feel relaxed by the quiet surroundings connected to nature and the countryside. Glamping in Shropshire feels like a quiet countryside escape, beautiful hills and cosy accommodation that lets you enjoy nature without giving up your home comforst.
