Hello, I’m Holly! My husband is Nick and we run our little family business, Colehurst Lake, in the North Shropshire countryside. Colehurst Lake is a small glamp site, which is easily accessible but nestled away in the countryside offering ‘back to nature’ accommodation in our unique glamping cabins which have been created by Nick.
Colehurst Lake is the perfect place to escape, discover and unwind. Set in the idyllic and beautiful countryside of Shropshire we are easily accessible but still surrounded by fields and woodland.
Colehurst Lake is officially rated as ‘One of the most loved homes on Airbnb, according to guests’ and I’m classed as a ‘Superhost’ and Superhosts are experienced, highly rated Hosts on Airbnb.
OUR PODS
We offer glamping holidays all year round in bespoke built & well-spaced cabins designed by Nick. It is really important to us not to be like so many other sites which just have field full of identical cabins lined up next to each other. We wanted each of our accommodations to have their own private space, to be unique, with different features & styles. However, they all have one thing in common… they are built with the intention of giving our guests their own private place to escape, rest & enjoy the nature around them.

Step inside our cozy Shepherds Hut and be greeted by comfy double bed with soft velvet bedding; (we always get compliments on this bedding and have had guests ask where it is from, so they can buy it for their own homes!) a bespoke coffee and tea unit, mini fridge, breakfast table, wood-fired log burner to ensure you’re always warm and toasty, plus ‘old school’ DVD collection for the TV.
But wait, there’s more! Moorhen’s Rest also boasts a separate, rustic outbuilding with floor to ceiling windows that gives you a stunning view of the lake no matter what the weather. Inside, there’s a well equipped kitchen with microwave oven / gas hob, fridge and all of the utensil, crockery, cutlery you’ll need, plus a comfy lounge area with another wood-fired burner. We provide tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
A further shack next to the Shepherd’s Hut, which is accessed via raised decking, provides your own private toilet and shower room.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Moorhen’s Rest also comes with its own wood-fired hot tub, nestled under the trees, giving you the perfect excuse to sit back and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake or watch the Moorhens going about their daily business.

The IDEAL ESCAPE for COUPLES
THE SPACE
This beautifully constructed wooden cabin is situated at the foot of the main lake, which in our opinion, offers the best views of the lake and sunset on the whole site. The cabin is very close to the car park, so is easily accessible without a long walk, but still offers peaceful accommodation with beautiful views.
Entering through the double patio doors off the small veranda, you are greeted by a cosy log burner in the open plan cabin. With a luxurious double bed to the left of the cabin, the compact but well appointed kitchen is on the opposite side, with a beautiful timber breakfast bar with luxury dining chairs overlooking the stream and hedgerow – during the winter months you may even be able to see through the greenery across lane to the neighbouring vineyard. The kitchen features a gas hob, small fridge, kettle, air fryer, microwave and all of usual pots, crocks and glassware you will need.
The cabin also features a high quality shower room and toilet, all under the same roof, so no need to go out in the cold in the middle of the night!
Outside, you’ll find an outdoor kitchen and gas BBQ area, complete with outdoor fridge – perfect for storing your BBQ food and beers! But wait, there’s more…. you’ll also find your log-fired hot tub nestled alongside the cabin, with stunning views straight down the length of the lake – an extra feature here is our favourite festoon lighting, which adds to the ambience after dark.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU GET?
You’ll receive a complimentary wheelbarrow of logs to keep you warm and toasty, but more can be purchased from us during your stay if you need (this cabin does have a total of four fires, so depending on what your plans are, you may use quite a lot!). We do only allow logs to be purchased from us, as we use a local firm which is HETAS accredited and limits the smoke on site. Logs are £17 per wheelbarrow, or £9 for a sack.
And, if that wasn’t enough to hook you in, you’ll also get FREE fishing for each person, so you can fish to your heart’s content during your entire stay!
THINGS TO NOTE
We do not provide towels, so please remember to bring your own!
– we do not allow cars along the lake bank. We provide wheelbarrows to help you transport your things, but you may need to bring wellington boots as the bank can get wet / muddy in the winter months or after wet weather.
– we recommend bringing a torch to help navigate around the site after dark
– if you wish to fish, you must adhere to our fishery rules
– no smoking inside the cabin
