Popular glamping locations

What makes glamping in North Norfolk so special is the unique combination of wild, open landscapes and charming coastal towns right on your doorstep. Wake up to birdsong and sea air, then spend your days exploring the beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham or Brancaster, browsing the independent shops and delis of Burnham Market, or walking and cycling the trails of the Norfolk Coast Path. As the sun sets over the marshes, return to your glamping retreat, light the campfire and enjoy the kind of peaceful evening that only the Norfolk countryside can offer. With some of the darkest skies in the East of England, North Norfolk glamping sites are also perfect for stargazing long into the night.

Beaches & Coast
North Norfolk has 45 miles of coastline awash with Blue Flag beaches, seaside resorts, market towns and villages. The standout spots include:

  • Holkham Beach — regularly voted one of the best beaches in Britain, stretching from Holkham all the way to Burnham Overy Staithe.
  • Wells-next-the-Sea — famous for its colourful beach huts, winding streets full of little shops, and award-winning fish and chips from French’s, a family-run chippy for over 100 years.
  • Brancaster Beach — a National Trust-managed beach with soft sands perfect for picnics, sandcastle building and dog walking.

Wildlife & Nature

  • Blakeney Point — home to England’s largest colony of Atlantic grey seals, with popular boat trips out to watch them.
  • RSPB Titchwell Marsh — one of the finest birdwatching spots in the UK, with reedbeds, woodland, saltmarsh, beach and freshwater lagoons with numerous hides.
  • Norfolk Lavender — over 100 acres of lavender with more than 100 varieties, a tearoom, animal gardens and a farm shop near Heacham.

Historic Houses & Estates

  • Holkham Hall — a magnificent 18th-century Palladian mansion set within a vast estate, hosting events and exhibitions throughout the year.
  • Sandringham Estate — the private country retreat of the Royal Family, open year-round with free-to-enter parkland, walking trails, a children’s playground and cafes.
  • Felbrigg Hall — an elegant 17th-century National Trust country house with a walled garden and extensive parkland.

Towns & Markets

  • Burnham Market — a picture-perfect village with independent shops, delis and some of the best restaurants in Norfolk.
  • Holt — a lovely market town and the terminus of the heritage steam railway, full of independent shops and galleries.
  • Cromer — home to the much-loved Victorian pier, the famous Cromer crab, and a strong connection with the RNLI and the sea.

Heritage Railways

  • The North Norfolk Railway runs from Sheringham to Holt with three beautifully restored century-old stations, and is one of the most scenic heritage railways in the UK
  • You can also travel on the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway, the world’s smallest public railway.
  • Dark Skies & Northern Lights

North Norfolk is one of the few places in the UK where you can sometimes see the aurora borealis, and the area has some of the darkest skies in England.
