Bradmoor Woods Group Glamping West Norfolk

Bradmoor Woods in West Acre is just 20 mins from the North Norfolk coast and Kings Lynn and 40 minutes from the historic city of Norwich. Catering for Groups we offer 12 unique glamping spaces for up to 37 people plus with additional camping space if required.  The site offers all you need for a fantastic group glamping break with plenty of unique accommodation and communal spaces for cooking and entertaining.  At Bradmoor Woods hang out and enjoy nature, cycle, walk, wild swim and explore the beautiful North Norfolk Coastline and beyond.

OUR ACCOMMODATION

THE SILOS
Perhaps the ultimate repurposed, our 2 silos are fantastic metal camping structures giving a large yurt like experience. Fully insulated and then wood lined, the silos make a great place for families to stay. They each have a double bed, a small single and a large floorspace so if you wish to bring an extra mattress etc for a child to bed down on the floor you may. They are heated with a french enamel stove. The extra floorspace is due to the round nature of the structure and makes for a great place to escape and play board games or draw.  The silos are situated a little bit further away from the Round House and the Loo/Shower block, however, are lovely and peaceful.

THE UPTURNED BOAT
A favourite with all who stay in her, Zenia is constructed with a reclaimed boat hull as a roof. Salvaged from Blakeney and transformed into an incredible sleeping hut, definitely for the more agile of us as you climb up ladders into the beds which are in the roof.  She can happily sleep 4 people – 2 at either end – making it perfect for a family or 2 couples who want to share.  The hut also features a classic French enamel stove, which makes ‘her’ super toasty and warm on cold nights in the woods, a table to sit around and some old theatre seats to watch the woods go by.

THE BIRD HOUSES
The Bird Houses are dotted amongst the trees behind the Round House just far enough away from the main hub of the camp to offer peace and quiet, whilst also being close enough to all the amenities.  Built on an ‘A’ Frame design our Bird Houses are the simplest structures at Bradmoor Woods. They are supremely comfortable though and are incredibly strong as well as being the perfect low-impact woodland structure. A bit less swanky than the others, however, in them you really are closer to nature.

All of our Bird Houses feature raised beds and are constructed with a solid wooden roof that extends down the sides of the building, forming 2 of the walls. The other 2 walls are made from canvas which has the added benefit of giving a light airy feel to the structures and keeps them cool during the height of the summer.

THE RAILWAY CARRIAGES
More than 100 years old, our first Converted Railway Carriage was originally bought from the Station Master at Swaffham station. We have repurposed and refurbished these beautiful original carriages and turned them into fantastic places to stay and sleep in the woods. They offer either a double bed (sleeps 2) , a double and a single bed (sleeps 2 adults + 1 child’s bed) or a double bed and a bunk and (sleep up to 4) in immense comfort. All featuring solid wood panelling, huge glass windows and classic French enamel stoves to keep you toasty in the night.

THE TEEPEES
A teepee, essentially a very big tent, is the newest addition to our accommodation and is a very large wooden structure that provides a comfy, warm and ultimately fun place to sleep. Sleeping up to eight people in one double and six single beds, that are all centred around a cosy wood-burning stove.

FACILITIES

THE ROUND HOUSE
A big open space that you can lounge about in, play cards and boardgames, shelter from the rain, dance, play charades or if you’re feeling properly energetic, re-enact the whole Normandy Landings strategy using chairs, children and some leftover cans of anchovies and bottles of balsamic vinegar.

It is also where you can find the camp kitchen and as such is where people tend to congregate during the day when they’re not outside exploring. It very much forms the hub of our site and makes for a fantastic place to sit and watch the world go by and your fellow guests get on with their day to day activities.

By night you can light the kitchen and Round House with LED solar powered lighting or light the wood burner in the social tepee for a great cozy hang out spot for cooler or wetter nights.

TEPEE
We have a sitting room teepee for a great cozy hang out spot for cooler or wetter nights.

KITCHEN
Kitted out with a hundred mugs, numerous plates, bowls, cutlery, pans, pint and wine glasses etc everything you need to cook, eat and drink with. Also includes 3 double gas burners but NO OVEN.

BBQ’s
Large and small with charcoal included.

PIZZA OVEN
Great fun with a group of friends and family – all wood provided.

3 BUTLER SINKS

FOOD & CATERING
You can bring your own, you can call in caterers who can recommend or you can go and explore all the amazing gastropubs, cafes, and farm shop offerings. Local shops, such as Howards in Gayton, will deliver a wide range of food directly to site with minimal packaging. The local craft ale brewery, Duration Brewing will deliver to site, as will Norfolk Produce. There are a range of shops in nearby Swaffham.

THE SHOWER & LOO BLOCK
Our Fairground Carousel-Style Loo/Shower block is made from loads of old doors and looking like a fair ground carousel inside this imaginative building contains Flushable loos & power showers, basins and a super supply of hot water.

There are four showers and four loos and are solar powered (as everything else is).

BEDDING
We’ll provide all your sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases… beds all made up on hollow fibre pillows and 13 tog hollow fibre duvets so no feathers and super warm for the British weather.

4 TON TENTS
If the dates you are looking for are unavailable or you’re looking for a smaller venue, please look at our sister glamping site for availability. Alternatively, for larger groups both 4 Ton Tents and Bradmoor Woods can be booked together.

Our 4 Ton Tents are three ex-army trucks converted into luxury accommodation. Two are kitted out for sleeping 4 people with a double bed and a bunk bed. There is a table, chairs and bench area in each truck. The third truck has a double bed. The trucks are accessed by steep steps up to a platform and have a cover of weather-proof canvas with windows and roll up blinds, hence the name 4 ton tents. Fairy lights and lanterns are provided to light the inside of the accommodation but the camp is not lit so bring torches!

KITCHEN
Outside cooking in a converted army trailer into a canvas kitchen. The open sided kitchen has cupboards, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and a plumbed in sink for washing up with hot water and cold for drinking. There are 4 gas hobs and a couple of barbecues for cooking. Food can be kept cold with 3 cold boxes – which can be filled with ice – for your drinks and food. There are two USB sockets in the kitchen for charging your phones (there is 4G on site for most networks). By the kitchen is a safari style al fresco social dining area and at the heart of the camp is a huge fire pit; a place to gather beneath the stars and listen for owls and bats overhead. We will provide plenty of wood for your stay.

RAINBOW LOO/SHOWER BLOCK
There are four flushable loos, two power showers, basins and an alfresco bath tub and a super supply of hot water. This facility, like the kitchen is solar powered (everything is) and water comes from a bore hole drilled specially to feed the site.

Sites can be booked separately or together. If both sites are booked together for the same dates, there is a 20% discount on the 4 Ton Tents booking. Please ring Kelly on 01760 755254 for enquiries
