Outside your shepherds hut door you are most likely to find walking trails in every direction. The Peak District is England’s first national park, so paths are everywhere, winding across moorland, dipping through valleys and climbing onto windswept ridges.

Places like Bakewell with its stone bridges and famous pudding, or Castleton sitting beneath dramatic hills and caves are all great places to explore.  Matlock Bath, is a quirky riverside village with a unusual vibe with it’s long prom benches, pedlar boats and ice cream offerings along the river.  The grand estate of Chatsworth House famously used as Mr Darcy’s home in Jane Austen’s film adaptation Pride & Prejudice, along with it’s incredible art collections and huge landscaped gardens is not to be missed.

Unlike some countryside escapes that make you slow down immediately, the Peak District often makes you want to move!  Hike a ridge, explore a valley, climb a vantage point and then return to your glamping site in the evening leaving muddy boots by the door and preparing the hot tub for the evening.

Visit The Peak District will give you further ideas on the areas top attractions.
