When one website links to another, it can tell search engines one of two things: count this link, or ignore it.
A do-follow link counts. Google treats it as one website vouching for another, and that is one of the signals it uses when deciding how far up the results your own website should appear.
A nofollow link does not. It still works perfectly well for a guest who clicks it. It simply carries no weight with Google.
Why it matters to you
Your own website is competing with every other glamping site in your county. Links from established websites are one of the things that help it climb, and Love Glamping has been online for over sixteen years, so a link from here carries more weight than one from a brand new site.
It is worth saying plainly that no single link transforms a website’s position. It is one ingredient among many, and it works slowly.
What other directories may do instead
Commissionable booking directories usually do not link to your own website at all. They keep the guest on their own site and take the booking there, so there is no link to pass anything on — and they take a cut of the booking as well.
Listing directories like Love Glamping do link out, because sending you the guest is the whole point. Most of them still mark that link nofollow, so their link brings you the guests who happen to click it and nothing more.
Where yours is
Your do-follow link is the link to your own website on your Love Glamping listing. If your listing comes down, the link comes down with it.
