Dreamery Hideway Glamping in North Yorkshire
The Dreamery Hideaway in Yorkshire is one of the UK’s original glamping destinations, formerly Jollydays and originally established in 2008. Today, it remains a small, boutique woodland retreat, with just eight thoughtfully spaced accommodation units— four bothies and four woodcutter huts, set among beautiful, peaceful trees. It’s where woodland stays meet fairy-tale magic!
Open all year round, The Dreamery Hideaway welcomes couples, families, groups, and everyone in between—from walkers and non-campers to those celebrating special moments. Whether you’re looking to completely switch off, bring people together for a reunion, plan a unique corporate retreat, or simply celebrate life, this enchanting setting offers the perfect backdrop. Tucked away near York and alongside England’s Lost Fairy Gardens and Museum, it’s a place where nature and imagination come together.
Designed as a magical escape into the woods, the site combines handcrafted accommodation with a calm, natural atmosphere. Guests can stay in one of four bothies (sleeping up to six) or four woodcutter huts (sleeping up to four), all carefully positioned to give a sense of space and seclusion. Free parking is available, and guests enjoy complimentary access to England’s Lost Fairy Gardens—even when it’s closed to the public.
Get out of the city and leave behind the sounds, smells and stress, rediscover yourself and let our woodland retreat weave its magic. Uplifting birdsong by day and atmospheric owls by night as well as 200 fabulous acres to get lost in! The camp is well hidden – accessed by a private road, with mobile reception but no wifi. So you can rediscover the forgotten art of conversation, build a den, or pretend its 1978 and play board games by candlelight. We don’t think you’ll find a more magical location for a group weekend or family break.
Just 20 minutes from York, with excellent rail links to London, Manchester, Liverpool and Scotland, The Dreamery Hideaway feels wonderfully tucked away while still being easy to reach.
For those looking to make their stay extra special, private group dining is available at the Dreamery Kitchen, and a trusted list of local suppliers can help arrange experiences such as pampering treatments and other activities.

FOR FAMILIES
The Dreamery Hideaway is a fabulous place to visit with kids, there is something special about spending time in nature and the woods have a magic all of their own. We deliberately keep things simple – our “entertainment complex” consists of a wooden Wendy house and a couple of rope swings! However a couple of minutes walk away is Northwood Trail – England’s first fairy sanctuary, with a magical fairywood and enchanting fairy museum – with the largest collection of fairy artefacts in the world – perfect for grown-ups as well as kids!
GROUPS
We’ve hosted hundreds of groups over the years and The Dreamery Hideaway is the most idyllic place to celebrate – it feels like we are deep in the wilds, but we’re just a short hop from the incredible city of York – with all its many and varied charms. We can accommodate groups as small as 6 and as large as 40. Like most glamping sites we do have restrictions in school holidays, however if you are stuck with holiday dates, please check out our sister woodland camp www.northstarclub.co.uk which has no such restrictions.
