THE ISLE OF WIGHT
The Isle of Wight is celebrated historically for the world’s largest sailing regatta, Cowes Week, Queen Victoria’s Osbourne House, great locally farmed produce and the world’s largest ever festival, Isle of Wight 1970 (600,000 on the downs). Today the Island has even more to shout about. All year round the Island plays host to festivals of music, film, sports, food and drink, including The Isle of Wight Festival, Cowes Week, Yarmouth Old Gaffers, The Bestival, The Rhythm Tree Festival, The Minghella Film Festival, The Island Games and The Garlic Festival.
The great thing about being a small island is that you are never far from the coastline, with its many miles of great beaches to discover. Whether you are looking to play, relax, walk, ride, sail, surf, kite or swim there are beaches for you. Our local favourites are Compton and Freshwater Bay. For food and drink lovers, great pubs, cafes, farm shops, vineyards and tasty restaurants welcome you all over the Island.
“A Truly Magical Experience!”

We opted to stay in a safari tent to give our 3 year old an under canvas experience without making life too uncomfortable for us and our one year old. I had an expectation we’d have a lovely four days as a family, no distractions, beautiful surroundings, reasonable accommodation… I wasn’t quite prepared for just how gorgeous this location is, how amazing and comfortable the tents would be and that I’d barely see my 3 year old as he disappeared into the undergrowth with the two kids from the tent next door! 6 months have passed and he still talks about this holiday like it was the best time of his tiny life! We couldn’t fault anything about this place – it actually surpassed anything I could imagine – right from the excellent customer service by Chloe to the lovely chicken coup, the awesome breakfast (i had the pancakes) in the restaurant to watching swallows dart about in front of the tent each day…but best of all watching our little boy have the biggest adventure in wonderful surroundings – it was just idyllic and we will absolutely return next year.
