Hale Farm Campsite offers glamping in bell tents and a shepherds hut in a beautiful location within the East Sussex countryside on a working, family run farm. Situated along the Weald Way at the head of the Cuckmere Valley, we are in the perfect location for exploring the South Downs Country Park, The High Weald and the Sunshine Coast by car, cycling or walking. There are also two excellent pubs and a village shop all within walking distance from the campsite.
Relax and unwind in one of our beautiful, luxury 7 metre Bell Tents or charming Shepherds Hut set in our stunning 9 acre wildflower meadow. All our accommodations are beautifully equipped for everything you will need for a memorable, relaxing stay.
PLANKBRIDGE SHEPHERDS HUT
The hut is an ideal romantic getaway for couples with views from the stable door overlooking our beautiful buttercup field and includes
- Full-sized double bed made up with luxury fresh linen and towels
- Micro kitchen with small sink with running water, crockery and cooking utensils
- Wood burning stove to keep you warm even on the chilliest of nights

- Cupboards under the bed provide ample storage for any of your belongings

Set in our stunning 9 acre wildflower meadow you really will feel like you have escaped everyday life giving.
The luxury 7 metre Bell Tents all sleep up to 6 people and include

CAMPING and GROUPS
Camp in an open field, under the stars, with a small campfire outside your tent, where you can sit and watch the night sky on a clear night. Limited camping pitches are available alongside the Bell Tents if all three Bell Tents are booked as part of a group.
SELF CATERING ACCOMMATION available too
Hale Barn sleeps up to 8 adults and during your stay enjoy your own private hot tub, and patio seating area, which looks out to the beautiful Sussex countryside.
ON THE FARM
During your stay don’t miss a trip to the farm to meet our beautiful donkeys Oreo and Bailey, who came to us from the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, along with our adorable miniature donkeys and ponies.
Enjoy visiting our free range chickens, turkeys, geese, peacocks and quails.Our free range chickens keep us with a plentiful supply of free range eggs, which can be purchased at our Sussex campsite, so you can enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast.
Meet our herd of Pygmy goats with their adorable kids and watch our flocks of Herdwick and Lleyn sheep grazing across the farm.
The farm is open every morning from 9.00- 11.00am for guests staying at the farm and there is no additional charge to visit the animals.
ARCHAEODISCOVERY DIG SCHOOL
A friendly team of professional archaeologists have been on hand to support our guests experience a real-life dig and hunt for a long-lost lime kiln that appears on some old maps of the farm.
Last season we recovered finds from many periods including Victorian crockery, eighteenth century clay pipes, prehistoric flints and lime waste from the nearby, but yet still undiscovered, kiln. Investigations are ongoing and a new season of digging will begin in the summer.
