Barnsoul Caravan Park sits amongst 80 acres of woodlands, paddocks, ponds, farmland and family friendly adventure! We’ve designed the park to make the most of the stunning natural environment. Wildlife is in abundance including; deer, otters and red squirrels are often spotted at Barnsoul and some of our younger visitors tell us they’ve even seen fairies! Our small pond (catch and release) is stocked with trout, sticklebacks and there are frogs aplenty!
We’re one of Scotland’s most dog friendly holiday parks and canine members of the family will love our large fully enclosed dog exercise area.

Barnsoul has a fabulous mix of glamping options of all shapes and sizes. We’re always looking for new glamping ideas and have recently added some fantastic ‘Star Pods’ to Barnsoul, just the thing for making the most of Galloway’s dark night skies!

Our Apex Pods and Little Lodges are situated in our “Glamping Village” in the top field with clear, unobstructed views out over the hills. We have WC’s in the field to save the walk to the main facilities at night. If you prefer to be closer to the central amenities then our Bothies, Star Pods and Couples Retreats are a better choice as these are located centrally on the park close to the showers, toilet block and communal kitchen and BBQ areas.
All our glamping options have electricity, lights, heating, mattresses, kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave and a picnic bench. All you need to bring is sleeping bags and bedding, cooking utensils, plates, mugs, and cutlery. A small selection of flatware and pots can be found in our communal kitchen. Park facilities include free hot water, shower block with individual cubicles, a communal kitchen, laundry facilities, picnic area, communal BBQ, dog exercise area, children’s play park and mud kitchen, secure bike storage and an on-site warden.
The Apex Pods and Little Lodges have an external fire pit while the Bothies, Couples Retreats and Star Pods have a free-standing BBQ. Choosing the glamping experience that is right for you and your family is simply a matter of size and style!
APEX PODS
Scotland is famous for its unpredictable weather, so our Apex Pods have been designed to be a totally weatherproof version of a tent! Made from sturdy wood with extra home comforts, an Apex Pod glamping experience gives you all the fun and freedom of camping with the reassurance of solid walls and extra cosiness.
BOTHIES
These simple but comfy bothies are ideal for active families or visitors with gear that needs safely stored. The bothies are pod style units with some additional features including built-in bunks at the back and a seating area that pulls down to make one large bunk in the unit.
Visitors often choose this glamping option because of its additional storage features. Each pod has a little deck area with storage seats at the front, and they have their own storage sheds for safe storage of bikes and other equipment.
LITTLE LODGES
Our Little Lodges are superbly designed glamping pods that provide increased headroom, more windows and a separate bunk area for the children. Despite still being neat and compact, the extra natural light and the views over the beautiful countryside give a feeling of space and freedom.
Each unit has double glazing and panel heaters and sleeps 4 people in total, with bunks in a separate room next to the main sitting/sleeping area.
THE COUPLE’S RETREAT
For cosy short breaks with a loved one our Couple’s Retreat provides an extra comfortable glamping experience in our cosy cabin that is specially built for two.
Based on the style of a Gypsy Caravan and a Shepherd’s Hut, our two Couple’s Retreat units are fully fitted with the usual glamping basic facilities and some added extras including bistro table and chairs and built in BBQ. We have added soft lighting, colourful fabrics and homely touches to each cabin, as well as a comfy double bed.
STAR PODS
The newest addition to our glamping family! The star pods are for larger families and sleep a maximum of 6 people. They’re named because of the amazing skylights that are built into the roof, giving you night time views of the full spectacle of Galloway’s Dark Skies.

Apex Pods from £37 to £65 per night (sleeps up to 4 people)
Bothie Pods from £45 to £70 per night (sleeps up to 4 people)
Little Lodge from £55 to £80 per night (sleeps up to 4 people)
Couples Retreat from £42 to £50 per night (sleeps up to 2 people)
Star Pods from £65 to £95 per night (sleeps up to 6 people)
All bookings are for a minimum 2-night stay

BARNSOUL CARAVAN PARK – HOLIDAY CANCELLATION COVER
At Barnsoul Caravan Park, we understand that sometimes “life happens” and unfortunately, when you least expect it, you can become ill, have an accident or have some other reason preventing you from travelling.
We have set up a Peace of Mind Cover and a Change of Heart Cover to ensure that, whatever happens, you will be refunded, in full, all pre-paid monies you have paid to us (excluding monies paid for Cancellation Cover) for your stay at Barnsoul.
The Peace of Mind Cover offers a no quibble full refund on all monies paid (excluding monies paid for Peace of Mind Cover) on any cancellation. This cover costs £16.50 per night booked and must be purchased at the time of your original booking.
The Change of Heart Cover offers a no quibble refund on all monies paid (excluding monies paid for Change of Heart Cover) on any cancellation up to 7 days prior to arrival. This cover costs £12.50 per night booked and must be purchased at the time of your original booking.
