Sizergh Farm is a small family-run site with one camping pod, ten camping pitches, with the option of electric hook up and seven fully serviced hard standing pitches for caravan/motorhome/campervans .We are situated on the southern edge of the Lake District. Enjoy our farm setting which is located close to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. As well as our award-winning farm shop and café with raw milk straight from our herd.

Our wooden Camping Pod sleeps four and offers all the benefits of time spent in nature. Our site also has pitches for camping and caravans with tip top facilities and an amazing surrounding landscape for you to explore.

Explore both national park landscapes packed with walks, cycle routes, attractions, and deli-cious local food and drink.

Our award-winning farm shop and café are on site. Low Sizergh Barn farm shop first opened in the farm’s characterful 17th century barn in 1991 and has since attracted many accolades, including taste awards for the farm’s own produce, and multiple award wins for the shop and the café.

The pod is designed to sleep 4 people comfortably with 2 single beds and a sofa which converts into a double bed.It has a sink, kettle and microwave. It’s insulated to keep warmth in during the colder months and to offer a cooler space during summer.  The roofing material eliminates noise and there’s a velux window to make it light and airy. Add to that practical and hard-wearing but stylish hardwood flooring and a spacious decking area outside, and you have an inviting space with a touch of privacy.

The pod includes

Low Sizergh Farm is an organic working farm. With 341 acres in total, it’s home to a dairy herd of 170 cows – as well as a flock of 200 sheep. We hope you enjoy a unique perspective of life on the farm during your stay.

Follow the farm trail, a mile and three quarters of pond, field and woodland loveliness to explore.

Our menu includes the popular Farmer’s breakfast, which is now available all day, delicious cakes and slices, daily specials, light lunches, and afternoon teas as well as a good selection of drinks.

Hot chocolates or ice cream sundaes are often used as rewards for little legs that have made their way around our free farm trail.

Enjoy cheeses and ice cream made from the farm’s organic milk, fruit and honey from our orchards, own made preserves and ready meals, home baking, deli takeaways, and local and speciality foods.

Warm days and holidays are marked by the opening of the shed in front of the farm shop, which serves up ice creams made from our cows’ milk, delicious drinks including coffees, teas and smoothies, and a selection from the café menu.

Tables and chairs in front of the farm shop are the perfect spot to relax with your food and drink.

The farm shop shelves reflect our passion for farming, food and the countryside and offer you the chance to do your grocery shopping the local way, pick up some treats, or grab something tasty to take out.

Much of the local produce we have in the shop can’t be found anywhere else. Cumbria has a fantastic array of food, some with special status like Cumberland Sausage, Lyth Valley Damsons, Herdwick lamb and Morecambe Bay Shrimps.

You can also taste the herd’s raw milk, which is dispensed from a vending machine in front of the farm shop and just yards from the milking parlour. It’s an outstanding whole food: creamy, rich, nutritious and delicious.

Watch the cows being milked from 3.30pm daily. A scratch behind the ears over the parlour’s half door is welcome.

When you do venture off-site, you’ll find steep fells, rolling fields, forests and wetlands with all manner of plant and animal life.

  • The Cumbria Wildlife Trust operates 44 nature reserves, 38 of which are open to the public. They are some of the best places for spotting animals, birds, and plant life. Additional reserves operated by the National Trust and RSPCA make Cumbria and the Lake District a paradise for nature lovers
  • Walking options start from the farm gate. The Lake District is one of the best-loved landscapes and a World Heritage Site so it’s no surprise that walkers head our way to explore the mountains and lakes.
  • Cyclists can choose from national and local routes
