Glamping Somerset
Overlooking the Vale of Avalon Mowbarton Shepherd’s Hut is located in a 12-acre estate within beautiful Somerset countryside. Home to Mowbarton Estate Somerset Sparkling Wine the estate also provides self-catering accommodation: a Shepherd’s Hut perfect for romantic glamping as well as a beautiful converted Barn for larger groups (sleeps up to nine). Mowbarton is surrounded by green fields and pasture, yet easily accessible with plenty of attractions nearby and only 20 minutes from the M5.
Set in almost two acres, the Shepherd’s Hut shares its seclusion with the vineyard shed, home to tractor and other wine-growing equipment. Apart from the odd bustle as the tractor goes in or out, all the activity on the site is from wildlife. To the east of the Hut is Teasel Meadow, a sloping field with a table and chairs in the top corner – perfect for enjoying the views and watching the sun go down. Buzzards, sparrowhawks, woodpeckers and goldfinches are always around at Mowbarton, and in the spring we often hear cuckoos. Weasels have also been spotted. So sorry – no pets allowed!
