Tucked away in the northern reaches of the Peak District, glamping in Crowden ticks all the right boxes for a relaxing rustic retreat. The site is hidden away just off the Pennine Way and is only a short trek from the hikers haven, Longendale Trail. Stay in a 2-bedroom canvas-wrapped Safari Tent where each tent is complete with full beds, sofa and dining area adding a dash of homely comfort to your rustic adventure.
Whether you are a hard-core hiker or just a weekend walker, you’ll love the local trails around Crowden. The Pennine Way and the Longendale Trail are right on your doorstep, each promising fantastic routes with unbelievable views.
Only half and hour’s drive north is The National Trust’s Marsden Moor Estate offering magnificent walking and exploring across rugged moorland. There is so much more to Crowden than long walks and muddy boots. Head to the lavish Chatsworth House & Gardens near Bakewell for a grand day out and explore the magnificent stately home, the vast estate and Victorian rock gardens. There is a farmyard and adventure playground there too which the children are sure to enjoy.
If the rain decides to show itself, there are plenty of indoor adventures nearby in Glossop and Ashton-under-Lyme. Why not head into Manchester for the day? This city is chock-full of child-friendly museums, heritage attractions, cinemas, theatres, and oodles of cafes and restaurants and is only a 40 minutes drive from Crowden.
Whatever you decide to do, after your day out, your Ready Camp glamping retreat is a welcome home-from-home.
