Glamping Cornwall
Go glamping in Cornwall at Ekopod, where you can relax in splendidly well appointed pods, each in their own private space, nestled in the beautiful rural landscape on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Ekopod is the perfect base camp for exploring Cornwall set close to the beaches of Bude, picturesque harbours such as Boscastle, Port Issac and Padstow and close to attractions such as Tintagel and The Eden Project.
The Geodomes, pod and tents are set on the edge of Bodmin in almost five acres of wildflower meadow and woodland with beautiful views of the rolling Cornish countryside around the River Inney valley, Rough Tor and Brown Willy (the highest point in Cornwall). The secluded farmland is screened on three sides by woodland and bordered by a fast-flowing moorland stream. For the literary enthusiasts amongst the seventeenth-century Old Vicarage next to the meadow was the setting for Thomas Hardy’s poem “The Face at the Casement”.
The glamping site aims to provide a unique, private and relaxed accommodation where you can enjoy the stunning scenery of Cornwall. With warming log fires and clear night skies it’s an opportunity to embrace a calmer, simpler life. However, simple doesn’t have to mean basic, the pods are more akin to hotel rooms than tents. Just imagine an evening in a luxurious pod, looking up at the stars in an incredibly clear sky. That starry sky is waiting for you…
THE GEODOMES
Each geodome has been individually designed with a super king size four poster bed, kitchen, bathroom annexe, wood burning stove and a terrace to capture the wonderful views. There is a sofa bed that can be split into two singles on request. We don’t use any electricity in the pods, which as well as benefiting the environment gives a feeling child-like fun to everything you do.
GLAMPING POD
The glamping pod is named Steren which is Cornish for Star. Specifically designed for couples the pod boasts windows directly over the bath and bed where you can watch the stars at night. It is ensuite with a wood burning stove to heat your bath water.
Set on it’s own private terrace with sun loungers and a BBQ it also has a small camping kitchen.
THE LOCAL AREA
For us glampers, the great outdoors is one of the main attractions. As well as the yellow sands and blues seas of our celebrated beaches, you’ll be amazed by the diversity of the landscape in such a relatively small area. Cornwall has windswept moors, dramatic cliff top walks, rolling countryside and the fascinating scars left from our proud mining heritage.
