Glamping Wales Snowdonia
Our glamping in Wales and the Snowdonia National Park includes yurts, a bell tent and a snug Caban in the Glade as well as a touring camp site near Barmouth and Dolgellau, North Wales is in an exceptional location overlooking the stunning Mawddach Estuary – as seen on BBC TV Julia Bradbury’s Railway Walks. We make the perfect rural retreat for walking, cycling holidays and mountain-biking, bird-watching or stargazing. The spectacular Cadair Idris mountain rises steeply behind us and there are magnificent views towards Barmouth’s bridge and sandy beaches. Coed-y-Brenin’s mountain bike routes, Portmeirion and Harlech Castle are all within easy reach. You’ll find natural beauty in this quiet corner of Snowdonia National Park whatever time of year you choose to stay – bluebells in spring, summer sunsets, phenomenal autumn colours and sparkling autumn mornings. Children love the freedom to scramble around and find natural treasures. Photographers and artists often get no further than where our fields meet the Mawddach Estuary. We can provide group accommodation for special celebrations. It’s a great place to bring your bike, camera or dog too!
Choose from different glamping experiences at Graig Wen depending on the time of year:
Glamping in the Glade
In a secret silver birch glade just off the beaten track from the main camp site you can stay in one of three yurts or the Welsh Caban. The accommodation feels private although you will see your fellow glampers through trees. You are close to the washing facilities and can park by your accommodation.
Open March – October
Hidden away in the woods and meadows of our wilder, tent camping fields there is a simply furnished bell tent and – new for 2017 – a pop-up yurt. Secluded and away from it all, you will have an eco-loo nearby but it’s a long walk back uphill to other facilities. Parking is a few minutes walk in the campers’ car park but when you check in / out we can give you a lift in our off road vehicle.
Open May – September
Winter Glamping – New for 2017!
During the colder months, our two new pop-up yurts will be sited on the upper part of the camp site complete with electricity and washing facilities practically en suite. You will have woodburning stoves as well as electricity for extra heat, lighting, and to make your morning cuppa. The small, sheltered site has big estuary views and your neighbours will be the odd out of season camper van or caravan. Open March – April and October – December. Closed January and February.
THE YURTS – Sleeping 2 to 5 people
Guests will be blown away by the views, scenery and seclusion. Our yurt frames are home grown from ash trees on our own woodland and hand crafted by a Welsh business. POP UP YURTS

CABAN IN THE GLADE – Sleeping 2 people
We also have a gorgeous eco-pavilion near the yurts called the Caban in the Glade. The Caban can sleep 2 people. The Caban is sited in a grassy dell near our two yurts, hidden in a glade of silver birch and oak trees. It’s about 100 metres walk down a leafy track to our 10 pitch touring camp site where there are newly refurbished showers and loos.
The romantic and snug Caban in The Glade is an inventive wooden pavilion. In the hand made wooden Caban you are tucked away in a sunny corner with your own private camp fire area. It’s ideal if you want more comfort than camping but want to experience the wonderful wild outdoors. There’s plenty of space by the Caban to pitch an extra tent if you want to bring along family or friends. The eco-Caban is inspired by yurt design but is elegantly crafted from sustainably sourced birch/spruce plywood and Douglas Fir. It is fully insulated with 360-degree views of the dramatic Snowdonia scenery through glazed panels. It’s easy to open the panels to gaze at the hills or watch the moon rise, or close the curtains and cosy up by the woodburning stove.

Our bell tent is for hire during July and August. The canvas tent sleeps 4 and comes kitted out with 2 camp beds and a thick quality double Vango inflated sleeping mat plus basic cooking equipment/utensils and floor matting.
