Glamping Suffolk

Fasbourn Glamping in Suffolk is a family run glampsite located within 26 acres of pasture and gardens in the peaceful countryside adjacent to the stunning B and B at Fasbourn Hall. Fasbourn lies on the edge of the village of Buxhall, a great setting for a family holiday or relaxing break and within easy reach of all the attractions of East Anglia, including Lavenham, Cambridge and The Suffolk Heritage Coast.

The campsite is in an enclosed one acre field with three bell tents called Oak, Skylark and Conker, our communal camp kitchen, planters full of salads and herbs, pizza oven and campfire circle. Each traditional bell tent is 5m wide and are kitted out for your comfort with king size beds, woollen blankets and wood-burning stoves. Each tent also has a private bathroom just a couple of minutes walk across the field along with the camp kitchen catering for all your needs.

All our open space is perfect for games and adventures for any children staying with us.

OAK is the tent closest to all the facilities. There are several of these mighty trees at Fasbourn and as a quintessential part of the English rural landscape, the species is a favourite of the family.

SKYLARK is the middle tent in the field at the heart of the site. As spring arrives at Fasbourn the sound of skylarks fills the air above the fields, which lifts your spirits with the promise that summer is on the way.

CONKER is named after one of our favourite trees as a child. There are a couple of fine specimens at Fasbourn and come autumn it’s difficult to resist collecting the shiny brown horse chestnuts. It’s the tent furthest from facilities but possibly has the best chance of spotting hares and deer running across the field.

Spacious, light and furnished with your comfort in mind, each tent features

  • King size bed with bedlinen and blankets
  • Optional rollout beds for children
  • Rugs
  • Chairs
  • Lights
  • Socket to charge electrical devices
  • Wood burning stove
  • Outdoor seating on deck
  • BBQ and a single gas burner for that morning brew

……..and a tin of homemade cake or biscuits to enjoy as you settle in!

Each tent has its own bathroom in the converted cart lodge, just a couple of minutes walk across the field so not quite an ensuite but as close as you can get in a field.  Each bathroom features a flushing loo, hot shower and space to store your wash bags and complimentary towels.

There is also a utility area for all with washing-up facilities, a washing machine and clothes line.

The camp kitchen is in the corner of the field and has all you and your fellow campers need including

  • Baby Belling stove for cooking
  • Gas camping stove
  • Storage boxes
  • Seating
  • Fridge to share with your fellow campers
  • All pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses
  • A tap provides drinking water behind the kitchen and each bell tent

The campfire is a place for all so please be considerate and share those marshmallows!

We are particularly proud of the wonderful food and drink produced in Suffolk and we have put together an honesty shop for all your essential provisions, although we are still looking for a Suffolk marshmallow maker!

You can preorder a breakfast hamper filled with tasty local bacon, sausages, fresh eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, bread and apple juice. We also have a BBQ pack with locally reared Aberdeen Angus beef burgers and other goodies.

Lying on the edge of the village of Buxhall down a no through road, Fasbourn offers a network of footpaths and quiet lanes for walks and bike rides. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife to watch and the beautiful towns and villages of Suffolk are waiting to be explored including

  • The beautiful village of Lavenham
  • Historic town of Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral and independent shops
  • Stowmarket with the open air Museum of East Anglian Life
  • City of Cambridge
  • Suffolk Heritage coast including Southwold, Aldeburgh and Dunwich
  • Historic city of Norwich
  • Go Ape at Thetford Forest
  • Farm trails such as Hollowtrees Farm, markets and farm shops, food and rural craft courses and so much more
