Or you could hire one of three shepherds huts for that romantic retreat, a family get away or somewhere to put your head down, after cycling or walking all day. They are fully insulated and heated so what ever the weather they are warm and cosy. They all have there own showers and toilet, so no running across a field at night.
You will delight in the space, fresh air and seeing how a working farm works. This is a time to get away from all things modern and resort back to nature.
THE TENTED LODGES
Our tented lodges are based around African safari tents, perfect for families to get close to nature. With all the comfort of a permanent structure, but the lodges preserve the romance and atmosphere of a tent. The lodges are very comfortable and include everything required to make your stay extra special.
We have two lodges (Chaffinch & Goldfinch) each sleeping up to 8 people. Each lodge has a double bed in the master room, a bunkroom and a custom made ‘cabin’ double bed which has doors opening into the living room and the bunkroom. There is also a double sofa bed in the living area. A cot bed is available on request for younger children.
Each lodge has its own flush away toilet and shower. Each lodge is also fully equipped with electric sockets, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and wood burning stove.
On arrival you will find:
- All bed linen and towels
- Cooking utensils and crockery
- A coolbox (with daily deliveries of ice)
- Freshly laid eggs (eggs available to collect from the chicken coup)
- A homemade cake
- Tea, coffee, sugar and milk
- A selection of family board games and pass-times
- A basket full of logs
- Outdoor BBQ
THE SHEPHERDS HUTS
Our huts are hand built by Riverside Shepherds Huts, using the traditional methods, original these huts were built for agriculture workers working away from the farm i.e. during lambing time or a gamekeeper on a large estate. Our huts have the traditional look, but all the modern comforts without the distraction of TV wifi etc. We have introduced three shepherds’ huts to our site. Each one offering something different. Once again we are offering outdoor living with a twist- luxury, comfort, beautiful countryside, and the great outdoors. All our huts have a bespoke kitchen area, and a well thought out shower/toilet area, so no running across fields in the night. They are fully insulated and heated.
Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or rural retreat with the family our shepherd’s huts have everything.
This hut is 18ft x 7ft and suitable for 2 people. The relaxing colours in this hut would chill most people out! There is a stable door a fold out table with 2 stools and a small cupboard with hanging space.
With its bespoke kitchen area, with a interagrated oven, fridge and 2 plate hob. Bespoke shower/toilet area. The double bed is already made for you with a scrumptious memory foam mattress, wool duvet, which is meant to give you the perfect night sleep, with luxury cotton bedding and large Egyptian towels included.
On those warm summer evenings we have a table and chairs for you to sit out on and a bbq/fire pit.
This has the same lay out as the Norfolk Horn, but is able to accommodate two under fives or 110 cm with two pull down bunk beds, above the parents bed.
Suffolk is a slightly smaller hut and instead of having the bed already made up it has a seating and table area, so at night you will have to make up your own bed. You will be given the same luxury bedding and towels. This hut is well behaved pet friendly. The kitchen area has a fridge, 2 plate hob, and integrated microwave oven with grill. On those warm summer evenings we have a table and chairs for you to sit out on and a bbq/fire pit.

WOW! We all loved the tents and the whole farm. Me and Emma liked sorting out the eggs in the morning with Bob. I liked seeing all the sheep, chickens and cows. A couple of chickens and cows. A couple of chickens are staying round our tent as if they want something. Jonah (aged 9)
