Statuary Cottage Chalet on the Devon Cornwall border is in the grounds of the owners home and a stone’s throw from the branch line terminus station at Gunnislake. You are only 45 mins away and a lovely train journey to Plymouth and connections can be made as far west to Penzance and east to Exeter or Torbay. Nearby towns include Tavistock and Callington and other places of interest include the National Trust property of Cotehele, Tree-surfing, River Tamar trips and many lovely walks, including on Dartmoor, which begins at the edge of Tavistock.

Within a few minutes drive there are opportunities for mountain biking, scooter parks and play areas for younger children. There’s also a tree-surfing area>
A few minutes away there is a well stocked shop, and in the nearby area there are several pubs and a cafe offering good food. The lovely village of Calstock is on the River Tamar, and is also on the railway line.
Tavistock provides several good quality restaurants, and a pannier market daily except Mondays; all Fridays also include produce, with Farmers’ Market on 2nd and 4th Saturdays
